Drought Conditions 2020 This summer has been one of the driest and hottest summers on record. Many lawns are suffering due to the dry summer conditions. How to fix? More water?! Recently I saw a lawn (pictured here) where there was a patch of green on a lawn otherwise mostly dry lawn. On closer inspection- I realized that the green lawn was right next to the downspout. That patch of lawn got just a bit more moisture than the rest of the lawn- just enough moisture to keep it green in spite of the drought conditions. Most lawns will recover when we receive the fall rains. Watering heavily will also help but will likely increase your water bill. Rainfall is best. Hopefully the fall rains will come soon. (athough in some areas the rains have started and the lawns are recovering.)
