Viburnum Beetle

Went to Bill's place today, to give a treatment to his Snowball and Highbush Cranberry, (both members of the genus Viburnum.)

Viburnum beetle larvae are out in full force right now. The insects really can defoliate a bush very quickly.

I had the same problem on my viburnums a few years ago. The bushes were defoliated in a short time. However, the shrubs regrew a new set of leaves. The last few years, I have not had a problem with this particular insect. Perhaps they also go in cycles.
